Roger West Have just had a total knee replacement. The care from all the staff at Priory was fantastic. My Surgeon Marcus Green was marvellous explaining everything about the procedure and the recovery. All made easy to understand and gave me great confidence. The nurses and support staff were always available and helpful through my entire stay. The food was excellent and never short of choices I would recommend the Priory and its staff to everyone.

Dr Hari Prem

image.psd(81)

I am an orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in foot and ankle diseases in adults and children. I work at Birmingham Royal Orthopedic NHS Hospital and Birmingham Children’s NHS Hospital, both of which are tertiary referral centres. In addition, I have recently established a Birmingham Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Clinic with practices at two BMI Hospitals.

I feel that each of us has a unique character down to our feet, and like our personalities, one bunion is different from another. The information is deliberately brief so that the surgeon can fill in the gaps after clinical examination. The foot is the body’s unique load carrier, shock absorber and propulsion system with extremely complex structure and biomechanics. At the same time, it is very sensitive and intolerant of deviations. Quick solutions may not always be possible and may require additional input from a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, anesthetists (pain consultants), physiotherapists, nurses and orthopedists.

Fantastic educational webinars by the wonderful specialist consultants. Very educational, evidence based and current research. I have attended both in person and virtual sessions and I can say the quality has not differed because of being virtual. There is also the fantastic Michelle who moderatesand organises them. She is so efficient and prompt in communicating before, during and after sessions. Looking forward to the next sessions.

Tom Lawrence

I studied at Bristol Medical School and qualified as a doctor in 1998. I specialized in trauma and orthopedic surgery at the highly regarded Nottingham program where I developed a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. I completed the USMLE and was then selected for one year of highly specialized training in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Mayo Clinic in the US.

This gave me a unique opportunity to learn directly from the world’s leading surgeons in their field. After returning from the USA, I did my second shoulder and elbow training in Sheffield. In 2012 I was appointed Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Coventry University Hospital and Warwickshire NHS Trust, a large tertiary referral hospital and large regional trauma centre. c Surgeons.
